How To Improve Your Lawn In 2 Simple Steps

Spring is here and the warm, sunny days bring new beginnings and rejuvenation after months of cold, harsh weather conditions.  It’s now time for spring-cleaning, but not just the inside work we commonly think of, but the outdoor work on your lawn as well.  Homeowners can do some things now in springtime to get their lawn ready for the extremely hot days ahead.  Here are two simple and easy lawn care tips.

*Fertilize:  In order to keep your lawn healthy, check the pH level to determine the condition of your soil.  After determining the level, you should find out the type of fertilizer needed and the amount to use.  Fertilize your lawn in the spring while the soil temperature is warm and the grass is beginning to grow.  Adding nutrients to the soil during the spring will help your lawn withstand the long, hot summer months that surely will come.

*Mowing:  Another way to keep your lawn healthy is to occasionally leave the grass clippings on the lawn in order to add organic matter to the soil.  This process is known as grasscycling.  This is another way to add nutrients to the soil at no extra expense to the homeowner.  Grasscycling will save you time, money and will help to protect the environment.

By taking these simple and easy steps during the warm days of spring, your lawn will become healthier and the soil will have the proper nutrients to facilitate the proper growth of trees and plants.  Your family will enjoy the results of your efforts while spending time and entertaining outdoors during the warm months ahead.
