Is an indoor plant in the higher elevations of the southwest. Southern California and Arizona enjoy this type of plant year round and can be planted outdoors.
It does not like temperature below 32degrees farenheight. If it freezes in your area this gorgeous plant needs to be kept indoors during the winter months.
It is grown as an indoor plant in
Southwestern New Mexico.

Vigorous, showy vine shines with bright red and other colors gives it a fine cover for patios or arbors. Also a good ground cover for banks. Use as annual color in colder climates.
Evergreen. Full sun. Fast grower to 20 to 30 feet long.

Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep,
extensive root system. This plant is actually drought resistent after being established. But only if planted outdoors. Continuing watering 3-4 times per week if indoors.
Feed with a general purpose fertilizer. Be very careful when removing plant from the container, keep the root ball intact.
