Hosta plants for shade

    Hosta Plants do well in the southwestern states they just need alot of shade. They are also sometimes called plantain lilies. New plants need lots of water at least 1-2 inces per week. They will thrive underneath a large shade tree.

    These type of plants will go dormant if your zone gets freezing temperatures. Just cut back during early winter and they will sprout right back up in early late spring.
