Yellow Bell Plants
Also called the Esperanza or Tecoma Stans.This plant is drought tolerant once it gets established. In the southwest it can grow up to 10ft. tall and about 5ft. wide. Bright yellow bell like blooms thus the name Yellow Bells. Blooms will start in late spring or early summer. It will go dormant during the winter season. Cut back about 1/4 of the way down to induce new growth in spring.
It is considered a perennial throughout most of the southwest but in colder climates it is sold as an annual. Color Your World Nurseries will usually have this plant during the spring, summer and fall seasons.
Don't be afraid to plant it in full southwestern sun...it loves the hot weather providing it gets watered reguarly.
